How to distinguish between real leather and faux leather?(1)

Though it is said that faux leather has improved remarkably compared to the past, there is a clear difference between a genuine leather and a synthetic leather.
If you were tricked into buying faux leather shoes, sofa or other item in a high price, thinking that the leather is genuine, how unfair is that?

Next we will introduce 7 ways to tell apart between a real leather and a faux leather.

1. Compare with smell.
Natural leather and artificial leather both have a smell. Faux leather usually smells like vinyl and chemical odors, as opposed to real leather, which has this distinctive odor of leather and animals. It will be helpful to check the smell of real leather and faux leather in a regular basis.

2. Take a look at the backside.

The left is faux leather and the right is real leather. If you examine each of the inner part, genuine leather is rough like a tax (suede), and artificial leather has a fabric treatment.
Leather coating technology has went through a great deal of developmental progress, so it's quite difficult to compare one to another, but if you look at the inner or lower part, you will see a rough surface tax (suede). However, faux leather normally comes with seams poking out because it's treated with gauze or thin fabric.

Above 2 simple ways, did you get them? Let us expect to introduction of remaining 5 ways in next article! See you.
